About

Del Mar Hills Academy is a neighborhood school with approximately 325 students. We are a National Blue Ribbon school and a California Distinguished school. Del Mar Hills Academy was built in the 1970’s and has a unique “Pod” design with no square rooms.

Del Mar Hills Academy community created and piloted the SMArT program which integrates Art, Music, Science and Technology into the students daily curriculum.  The success and popularity of the SMArT program served as the basis for the creation of the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF) which allowed the program to be rolled out district wide.

As a PTA we’d like to think that we reflect our school: we are of unique design with no square rooms! We are proud of our neighborhood school and we think you will love it, too.

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a volunteer educational organization. The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help Del Mar Hills. But there are many more advantages. Here are just a few:

Get Connected: There’s no better way to know what’s happening at the Hills.

Discover Great Resources: The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as parents.

Watch Yourself Grow: By volunteering with your PTA, you gain valuable experiences and personal confidence. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause.

Speak Up: Because PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions and more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Help Your Child Succeed: PTA fosters parent involvement. Parent involvement has been proven by three decades of research to be the greatest predictor of student success.

Witness Improvement: By getting involved in your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping to make positive changes. Local PTA’s play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, social events – which are all vital to a school’s success.

Be A Role Model: By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your children the important you place on education.

Ultimately, the PTA is you!
