  • PTA donations stay right here at Del Mar Hills. They fund grade-specific learning materials, teacher mini-grants, reading incentives, and community events like Ice Cream Social, Spooktacular, and more

Please Consider Company Matching

Why request a match?
 Many employers will match part (or all) of your donation to a nonprofit, doubling the impact for our students and school community!

Steps to request a match:

  1. Make your donation to the PTA (Zeffy link, check, etc)

  2. Save your donation receipt

  3. Log in to your company’s matching gift portal (examples: Benevity, CyberGrants)

  4. Search for us by name (Del Mar Hills Academy PTA), EIN (see above), Address or Treasurer Email address

Enter the donation amount and upload your receipt. Some companies will send us an email to confirm your gift — we’ll take care of the rest.

Important Notes:

  • Tax-deductible portion only: If your donation tier includes a perk (e.g., hat, tumbler, hoodie, or gift card), the fair market value (FMV) of that item must be subtracted from the tax-deductible portion eligible for matching. You do not need to worry about this, as it will be handled on our end.

  • General donations: If your company’s matching policy does not allow any gifts or goods exchanged, you may use the “General Donation” option on our Zeffy form to choose your own donation amount without receiving a perk.

  • Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) Gifts & Matching: In most cases, donations made through a DAF are not eligible for company matching, since the donor already received a tax deduction when they contributed to the DAF. Some employers, however, may still match a DAF grant if the employee submits it through their giving portal. Please check your company’s matching policy. Please note that donations from DAFs  are accepted, but those must be general donations (no perks).

  • Some companies issue two separate payments — one for your donation and another for the company match. Other companies process it all together and send the donation + match in a single payment directly to the PTA. In both cases, it can take several weeks for the funds to reach us.

Catch the Wave

Dates: Monday, August 11th – Monday, September 1st

🌊 Catch the Wave is the Del Mar Hills PTA’s annual membership and giving campaign. The PTA provides academic resources for students and teachers, plus a calendar packed with fantastic events for the whole family. Thanks to your donations we never charge admission for these special events like our ice cream social, Halloween Spooktacular and Spring Family Carnival. There are donation suggestions for every budget, including our most popular “Seaside” giving tier at $180 or $1 per school day.

Our goal is always 100% participation and every classroom that reaches at least 90% participation earns a popsicle party - perfect for a hot September afternoon! Donations from grandparents and extended family are welcome and will count towards your student’s class participation.

Aside from our (amazing!) parents’ night out and auction — HillsFest — Catch the Wave is the PTA’s only fundraiser of the year. The campaign ends September 1st, so don’t wipe out, Catch the Wave today!
